| TaxiMiles Inc has launched "The pr Event" of the festive season. Today, members of TaxiMiles will partner with students of "In The Drivers Seat" program at Richview Collegiate ( Islington Ave. at Eglinton Ave.) between 2:00PM and 4:00PM and 5:30 PM and 7:30PM to make parents aware of alternative transportation for the festive season. Being between sixteen and twenty-four years of age, car keys and Friday or Saturday nights can be a deadly combination. Impaired driving continues to be the leading criminal cause of death in this country. Pedestrians especially the elderly account for fifty percent of traffic fatalities in major urban centres.
This year you can contribute to road safety by purchasing or gifting TaxiMiles to those who need it most: Young persons without transportation, those persons who wish to drink during festivities and our family and friends who have lost their mobility and can no longer drive.
TaxiMiles is a unique approach to alternative transportation during this period. Together with our partners, we will launch an awareness initiative to reduce road injuiries and fatalities through affordable and accessable ground transportation. Our goal is to make safety on our roads a priority during this joyous time, and contribute to a safer driving environment during the festive season,and throughout the year.
