Media Advisory - 2004 Project E.R.A.S.E.
News Conference, Thursday, June 3, 2004, York Regional Police Air Support hangar, Hangar 19, Buttonville Airport, 330 Allstate Parkway, Markham
The launch of the 2004 Project E.R.A.S.E. will take place 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 3, 2004. The event will be held at the York Regional Police Air Support hangar, located at Hangar 19 at Buttonville Airport, 330 Allstate Parkway, in the Town of Markham.
Project E.R.A.S.E., which stands for Eliminate Racing Activities on Streets Everywhere, was developed to eliminate fatalities and serious crashes that occur as a result of drivers who race and drive aggressively with no regard for public safety. There were two traffic fatalities in the past week in Toronto that were a direct result of street racing.
Project E.R.A.S.E. is a cooperative effort involving Police Services from Toronto, York, Peel, South Simcoe, Halton, Guelph, Waterloo, Barrie, O.P.P. and the Ministry of the Environment and Ministry of Transportation.
