TRAFFIC FATALITY #13/2004
PEDESTRIAN STRUCK

On Saturday April 3, 2004 at approximately 7:57 PM, a motor vehicle, pedestrian collision occurred on Victoria Park Avenue east of Navaho Drive in the City of Toronto.

The 73 year old male pedestrian was a passenger on a northbound TTC bus. He got off at the bus stop on the east side of Victoria Park Avenue opposite Navaho Drive. The male pedestrian started to walk across Victoria Park Avenue to the west side when he was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo which was southbound in the curb lane on Victoria Park Avenue.

The male pedestrian was transported from the scene by the Department of Ambulance Services and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Sunnybrook Health Services.

The deceased has been identified as Napoleon RIVAS, a 73 year old resident of Toronto.

Members of Traffic services are currently investigating the matter and any witnesses to this occurrence are asked to contact Traffic Services-highway Patrol at 416-808-1900 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
